WHAT IS MANAGEMENT, DEFINITION OF MANAGEMENT 

The term ‘management’ has been used in different sense. Sometimes it refers to the process of planning, organising, staffing, directing, co-ordinating and controlling, at other times it is used to describe it as a function of nanaging people. It is also referred to as a body of knowledge, a practice and discipline. There are some who describe management as a technique of leadership and decision- making while some others have analysed management as an economic resource, a factor of production or a system os authority. Various definition of management are discussed as follow:

~ J.D Mooney and A.C Railey, “Management is the art of directing and inspiring people.”

[B] Management As A Process

The function of planning, organising, staffing, directing, co-ordinate and controlling fall under the process of management.
~ Henry Fayol, “To manage is to forecast and plan, to command, to co-ordinate, and to control.”
~ George R. Terry, ” Management is a distinct process consisting of activities of planning, organising, actuating and controlling, performed to determine and accomplish stated objectives with the use of human beings and other resources.”

[C] Management As A Discipline

IT means that in management discipline is a very important task to do. It means that when doing anything or any work in discipline it makes your way to have success in that work. It shows that discipline is an important task to do work in any feild.
